Marussia carmaker pulls out of F1. The company, which has a backing of just over $20 million, will continue to race in the DTM touring car series. Marussia said on Wednesday it had withdrawn from Formula 1 after just three years and announced plans to focus on its two existing series. The company said it had lost the backing of Russian oil billionaire and F1 team owner, Dmitry Mazepin, who had signed a deal to buy a 15% stake in Marussia in July 2010.
